Cycleback does not treat every collection as something that automatically belongs at a disposal site. Where practical, suitable items are separated for reuse, upcycling, donation, rehoming, resale or recycling. Responsible disposal is used for what cannot sensibly or lawfully be kept in circulation.

A practical approach. We prioritise reuse and recycling where practical, but the route for each item depends on condition, contamination, safety and what receiving organisations or facilities can accept.

Final prices depend on volume, weight, access and waste type. The van carries up to around 1 tonne, so dense waste such as soil, rubble and concrete is priced by weight rather than volume alone. Your confirmed quote will state the total price for the job described, including any compulsory disposal or call-out charge known at that point.

Can I get a same-day collection?
Yes. Same-day and next-day slots are offered subject to availability, location and the day’s route. WhatsApp is the quickest way to check.
What won’t you take?
Cycleback does not collect asbestos, hazardous chemicals, oils or paint, gas bottles or cylinders, or tyres through the standard service. If you are unsure, send a photo before booking.
Do you take rubble and plasterboard?
Yes. Soil, rubble and concrete are quoted by weight because dense waste can reach the van’s roughly one-tonne payload before the vehicle is full. Plasterboard is priced separately as a separate waste stream.
What happens to reusable items?
Cycleback prioritises giving suitable items a second life. Depending on condition and what receiving organisations can accept, items may be reused, upcycled, rehomed, donated, resold or recycled. Only items that are unsuitable for those routes move on to responsible disposal.
Which domestic appliances are collected free?
Suitable non-refrigerated metal-bearing domestic appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers and cookers can be collected free of charge, subject to access, condition and suitability. Fridges and freezers are chargeable.
Can you collect scrap metal?
Cycleback can collect ferrous and non-ferrous metal. The website does not promise payment for scrap; any purchase/payment is subject to the required licensing, identification, record-keeping and cashless-payment rules.
How can I pay?
For clearance services, payment can be agreed by bank transfer or cash. Any payment by a scrap metal dealer for scrap metal must use a legally permitted cashless method.
Do you provide waste paperwork?
For commercial, landlord and other business-waste collections, the appropriate waste-transfer or equivalent duty-of-care documentation is completed where required. Household customers can also use Cycleback’s Environment Agency registration number to check the public register.
