Reuse first
A second life before disposal.
Cycleback prioritises practical reuse, upcycling, donation, rehoming, resale and recycling routes for suitable collected items. We use responsible disposal for the residual material that cannot sensibly or lawfully be kept in circulation.
How it works
We choose the most suitable route item by item.
This is a practical operating approach, not a blanket claim that every collection is recyclable. Condition, contamination, safety, legal requirements and what local charities, reuse routes and recycling facilities can accept all affect the final route.
Donate & rehome
Suitable items may be offered to charities, community organisations or other reuse routes when the receiving organisation can accept them.
Recycle
Metals, suitable domestic appliances and other recyclable materials can be separated and sent through appropriate recycling routes.
Responsible disposal
Items that cannot be reused or recycled are handled through appropriate authorised waste facilities rather than being fly-tipped or informally dumped.
What this means for customers
Clear, practical and honest.
Once Cycleback collects items you have authorised us to remove, we may select an appropriate lawful onward route, including reuse, donation, resale, recycling or disposal. If something must be destroyed rather than reused — for example confidential paperwork or an item with personal information — tell us before collection.
For phones, computers, storage devices and other electronics, customers should remove personal data and sign out of accounts before collection wherever possible.
