Collection terms & guide pricing
1. Guide prices are not automatic final quotes
Website prices are guides based on typical volumes and ordinary mixed waste. Final price can depend on the actual quantity, weight, waste type, loading time, access, stairs, distance from the vehicle, parking and any separately charged items. Before the job is confirmed, Cycleback will state the total price or a clear method of calculation for the job described, including compulsory disposal or call-out charges that can be calculated at that stage. If the job materially differs from the information or photos supplied, any price change will be explained and agreed before additional work or loading continues.
2. Current general-waste guide prices
- Minimum collection, up to around 5 bags: £70.
- ¼ van: £110–£130.
- ½ van: £190–£220.
- ¾ van: £270–£320.
- Full van: £390–£450.
The vehicle has a payload of approximately one tonne. Dense loads may reach the safe payload before the van is physically full.
3. Separately priced items
Soil, rubble and concrete are quoted by weight. Plasterboard is quoted separately. When collected alongside a general-waste load, standard fridges/freezers start from a £55 add-on and mattress add-ons are typically £40–£60 depending on size and circumstances. Stand-alone bulky-item collections are quoted separately and are normally subject to the minimum collection charge. Larger or awkward refrigeration appliances, sofas, armchairs and other regulated waste streams may cost more because of handling, weight or disposal-route requirements.
4. Free domestic appliance collection
Free collection may be available for selected non-refrigerated metal-bearing domestic appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers and cookers. The item must be suitable for the collection route and reasonably safe/accessible to remove. Free collection is subject to access, condition, location and suitability. Fridges/freezers are not included. Fixed-in, contaminated, dismantled or unusually difficult items may require a paid quote or may be refused.
5. Items not accepted through the standard service
The standard service does not accept asbestos, hazardous chemicals, oils or paint, gas bottles/cylinders, or tyres. Other hazardous or regulated waste may also be refused. If you are unsure, send a photo and description before the booking.
6. Upholstered seating and other regulated waste streams
Sofas, armchairs and other upholstered domestic seating can be subject to persistent-organic-pollutant (POP) controls and may need to be kept separate from other waste during transport and handled through an appropriate authorised route. Cycleback may therefore price, load or document these items separately. Other regulated waste streams may also need separate handling.
7. Customer responsibilities
- You must have the right to authorise removal of the items.
- Tell Cycleback about heavy, hazardous, sharp, contaminated or unusual items before collection.
- Provide accurate access and parking information.
- Disconnect appliances from electricity, water or gas before collection unless a separate arrangement has been made with an appropriately qualified person.
- Keep children and pets away from the loading area where reasonably possible.
8. Booking requests
The website booking form creates a request, not an automatic confirmed appointment. A collection slot is confirmed only after Cycleback replies. Same-day and next-day service is always subject to route, capacity and availability.
9. Payment
Payment method and timing are agreed as part of the quote. Clearance services may be paid by the agreed bank-transfer or cash method. The website does not promise payment for scrap metal. If Cycleback offers to buy scrap metal, this will only be done where legally permitted and subject to the required licensing, seller identification, records and cashless-payment rules.
10. Reuse, donation, resale and recycling
By authorising Cycleback to remove items, you agree that Cycleback may select an appropriate lawful onward route for them. Depending on condition and suitability, this may include reuse, upcycling, donation, rehoming, resale, recycling or responsible disposal. Cycleback does not guarantee that any particular item will be donated or recycled because acceptance depends on condition, safety, contamination, legal requirements and the receiving organisation or facility.
If an item must be destroyed rather than reused, tell Cycleback before collection. Customers should remove confidential paperwork and erase personal data from phones, computers, storage devices and other electronics before collection wherever reasonably possible.
11. Waste carrier registration and duty of care
Cycleback Waste Services operates as an upper-tier registered waste carrier under registration CBDU648156. Customers can check the Environment Agency public register from the link in the site footer. For commercial, landlord and other business-waste collections, Cycleback will complete the appropriate waste-transfer or equivalent duty-of-care documentation where required and use appropriately authorised waste routes.
12. Consumer cancellation rights
If a consumer service contract is agreed at a distance (for example by phone, website or WhatsApp) or off business premises, statutory cancellation rights may apply. For most service contracts the cancellation period is 14 days starting the day after the contract is made. If you ask Cycleback to begin the service during that period, Cycleback may ask you to make an express request to start early. If you then cancel after work has begun at your request, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied. If the service is fully performed within the cancellation period after your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel may be lost. These terms do not restrict any statutory consumer rights.
13. Cancellations and access problems
If you need to change or cancel a collection, contact Cycleback as early as possible. Any non-statutory cancellation, waiting-time or wasted-journey charge will only apply where it has been clearly agreed in advance or where additional costs are reasonably incurred because the job materially differs from the information supplied. Nothing in this section overrides a consumer’s statutory cancellation rights where they apply.
14. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please contact Cycleback as soon as possible by email, phone or WhatsApp using the details below. We will aim to acknowledge the issue promptly, investigate it fairly and try to reach a reasonable solution.
15. Contact
Questions, cancellations or complaints can be sent to cyclebackwasteservicesuk@gmail.com or by phone/WhatsApp on 07300 335420.
